Legoland

The word LEGO is a combination of “Play” and “Good” and means “I put things together”. Genius!

Legoland

is one of Denmark’s largest and most important brands. Parken er blevet udvidet flere gange og er udover en stor forlystelsespark, også et stort trækplaster for folk i alle aldre, der nyder at gå rundt blandt de tusindvis af legoskulpturer, der er vokset op gennem årene.

The first Legoland park opened on June 7, 1968 in Billund, Denmark, next to the original Lego factory. During the opening season, 625,000 guests visited the park. Over 50 million guests have visited the park since its opening, making it Denmark’s biggest tourist attraction outside of Copenhagen.

Miniland is the heart of Legoland, where buildings are made in 1:20 scale with over 25 million Lego bricks. There are currently 12 Legoland parks in operation worldwide and they are marketed to families with children aged 2-12. The parks are owned and operated by Merlin Entertainments.

Miniland is the first thing visitors come to right after the entrance area. Here, a variety of landscapes and sights from home and abroad are displayed in the form of 1:20 scale Lego models, complemented by real water, grass and trees.

The park was quickly expanded to include Western Village, Pirate Land and various roller coasters and other rides.

During the summer, there are daily shows on a mini castle where the performers are sure to make several dives into the moat, much to the amusement of the spectators.

On selected days, the Legoland Billund Garden marches through the park to full music. And every now and then, visitors may be lucky enough to come across people dressed as princesses, dragons or Lego figures.

At Legoland you can eat at one of the many eateries, but you can also bring your own packed lunch.

You can take a bus to Legoland so you don’t have to search and pay for parking.
