The campfire hut

Our beautiful Isabella fire pit at Egtved Camping has become one of the most popular gathering places at the campsite, and it has already taken on a special meaning for campers and visitors alike. Its completion in June 2024 was a big day for us – not least because the project was made possible by a generous donation from the Isabella Foundation. Their support made it possible to create a place that combines coziness, nature experiences and community in the beautiful surroundings by the lake.

Directly down to the lake

The fire pit is perfectly positioned with a view directly down to the lake, so you can sit in the shelter and enjoy the tranquility of nature, the sound of the water and the special light reflecting off the surface. Right next door, our curious goats keep an eye on life around the fire pit, and many guests find it an extra little charm that the animals are so close. There are often small moments when children and adults stop to greet them.

Every Wednesday

In the summer, we light a bonfire every Wednesday. It has become a tradition where both young and old gather to make sno bread, roast marshmallows and enjoy the atmosphere. It’s one of those evenings when time slows down a little, the conversation flows easily, and the smell of wood smoke mixes with the sound of crackling flames. The communal bonfires are open to all, and many guests plan their week so they can join in.

The cabin is made to be used

But the fire pit is not just for community events. You’re always welcome to use it yourself, in fact, we say the more the merrier. The cabin is made to be used, whether you want to cook over a fire, warm yourself on a chilly evening, or just enjoy a quiet moment sheltered from the wind. Firewood is provided so you don’t have to bring your own, and we also have breadsticks ready if you fancy a quick and delicious campfire experience.

It’s cozy

For many, there’s something very special about baking bread or roasting marshmallows over the embers. It’s cozy, simple and brings back childhood memories while creating new ones. The combination of fresh air, fire and intimacy makes the fire pit a place where both children and adults can be together in a relaxed way without screens and distractions.

With a view of the lake

With the view of the lake, the surrounding wildlife and the sound of the crackling fire, the fire pit has quickly become one of the places that brings people together and gives camping life at Egtved Camping an extra dimension.
