Chill time is for everyone!

Chill times are Egtved Camping’s trademark.

Chill time is that little breathing space in everyday life where you simply do what you want to do – and only that. It’s the calmest and most carefree form of hygge you can imagine. At a time when many families are running at full speed and both adults and children are often caught up in long to-do lists, extracurricular activities and practical chores, Chill time can feel like a small luxury. A small miracle. It’s when the family lets go of the pace and steps into a world where you don’t have to do anything in particular. Chill time is a sanctuary. A slow break where the pace slows down, shoulders are lowered, and the coziness and closeness are allowed to rule.

No requirements

Because Chill time isn’t about accomplishing something. It’s about letting go. It’s the time when you can wear slippers, calmly and aimlessly, and when you don’t have to deliver, perform or produce. There are no expectations. No demands. Just space.

Chill times at Egtved Camping can be spent chugging around and visiting the tame petting goats that are always ready for company and a cuddle break. You can light a small fire and make marshmallows at a leisurely pace as evening falls, or you can soak in the lake and feel the cold water around your ankles without anyone saying: “Come on, let’s go”. And sometimes the most enjoyable thing of all is actually catching frogs in your nightwear while you forget all about time and rules.

Quiet moments

Chill time is also the quiet time when children and adults are allowed to be curious and follow their own ideas. It’s time without goals and direction – and that’s why it makes room for the small experiences that often become the most memorable.

When you give yourself permission for Chill time, a special kind of presence emerges. Conversations become softer and laughter comes easier. It’s not important what you do, it’s important that you do what you want to do.

Chill time can take many forms. For some, it’s sitting with a cup of hot chocolate and looking out the window. For others, it’s drawing, playing a cozy game or building dens in the living room. It can also be curling up on the couch with a blanket and a good movie, taking a quiet walk without direction, baking a cake together – or not if you don’t feel like it. The important thing is that chill time is driven by desire, not obligation.

It’s okay to be slow

Kids love nap time because it allows them to just be. No rushing, no pushing, no interrupting a game that’s just beginning. And parents get a rare moment of calm where they don’t have to be efficient, structured or problem-solving. In quiet time, it’s okay to be slow. It’s okay to do nothing. And you can change your mind along the way.

Chill time clears the calendar and warms the stomach. It strengthens closeness, creates small moments to remember and gives the family the opportunity to land together in something that feels safe and nice. Chill time is neither advanced nor demanding. It’s pure coziness. A respite filled with small, warm moments. And sometimes it’s precisely in those moments that life feels the most enjoyable. Because at the end of the day, chill time is pure hygge – and sometimes that’s exactly what you need the most.

Chill time should not be seen as a waste of time and should never be underestimated. Chill time helps to boost family wellbeing.

WE ALL NEED CHILL TIME!
