Spring and fall
Open all year round
Camping out of season is an option at Egtved Camping as we are open all year round.
Some campers like to move around with their camper van in the summer, but enjoy having a fixed base in the off-season to get away from home without having to deal with a new location every time they’re on the road.
Seasonal seats
To that end, we offer seasonal pitches for spring or fall. These are two quite different ways of camping, although they are basically the same kind of stay. Namely, being at the campsite where it’s less busy, fewer tourists and thus more presence among the guests who are on site.
Of course, you can also camp for a few days, you don’t necessarily need to book a seasonal pitch

Springtime
Spring is characterized by preparation for the coming of summer, and here spring already starts on Friday in week 11, i.e. mid-March. It runs until Friday in week 25.
As a camper, you’ll witness hedges being trimmed, terraces being stripped, flagpoles being set up, playgrounds being weeded, glamping tents being set up, cabins being painted, garden furniture being brought out and much, much more. The calm before the storm.
The winter campers
This is also when winter campers come out of hibernation and are extremely curious about new neighbors. Both those who haven’t winter camped and those who have just acquired a spring campsite. One of the signs that spring is on its way is the opening of the water in the campsite. Then people start cleaning their trailers.
Many people need to get active after the winter hibernation and in April we invite everyone who wants to lend a hand to a joint work day, where we give the site an overhaul to make it look beautiful and ready for a lot of happy campers. The work day is a day where we as hosts get a few much-needed helping hands, and a big bonus for both us and the campers is that the sense of ownership of Egtved Camping is strengthened when campers and other guests help maintain the site. Responsibility and ownership is a great value for us, and we can only be proud of the unity our campers show, especially on a day like this! No job is too small, there is room for all kinds of help.
Autumn
In the fall, of course, there’s a different kind of hustle and bustle as everything has to be packed up and made ready for winter. The concert pavilions are knocked down, the cabin inventory is packed into boxes, the water on the site is shut off, leaves are raked and the grass is cut for the last time. The fall season runs from the end of August through to the fall break in week 42.

Coziness and relaxation
The vast majority of campers love coziness and relaxation, and these are two keywords that characterize Egtved Camping. Slow down. And you can’t avoid that when you’re camping in the off-season.
Here you get the before and after party. You’ll experience the construction and demolition.
Spring and fall are different from summer and winter, of course. Where summer camping is busy and bustling, and winter is the exact opposite, spring and fall are right in between.
The budding nature
You can enjoy the budding nature, every day there’s a new tree budding, a new bird sound and in late spring you may already hear the nightingale. Camping life in spring is also special. You’ll see campers sitting outdoors in their garden furniture wrapped in blankets to absorb the sun’s first rays, the water in the campsite opens up and you can hear the sound of coffee cups clinking softly all around.
In the fall, as the leaves fall, you’ll see campers milking the last heat out of the sun day by day, slowing down to crawl backwards indoors just before winter.

Camping in the off-seasons
Camping in the outer seasons at Egtved Camping gives you the opportunity to socialize indoors in our common areas. In spring, communal events start to become more frequent, people are eager to meet others and eating together is always a good starting point for socializing, which is the driving force of camping life. In the fall, things slow down, but that doesn’t mean you have to be bored. We regularly invite people over for Sunday morning coffee, or watch a football match together in the common room while eating a barbecue sausage together, often quite a few people but nevertheless very, very cozy, unpretentious and intimate. A version you don’t experience in the summer. Real chick time!

Seasonal seats
Our shop and reception have limited opening hours during the off-season. Seasonal pitches are booked in collaboration with us, but you can book weekend or day stays online and check in using the code on your booking confirmation. You will be directed to selected pitches, as not all pitches can be accessed by car during the off-season. If you need help or simply prefer personal service, you can call between 9-17.
Service buildings
Our service buildings, i.e. shower and kitchen, are of course heated, but there are fewer toilets available.

Out of season
If you want to experience Egtved Camping out of season but either don’t have a caravan or only want to camp in the summer, you can also rent some of our cabins during the winter months. Our mobile homes are heated and give you the opportunity to experience camping life without having to stay in a caravan. You get the luxury of not having to put on your cold shoes to get to the service building, while you can also socialize with other campers if you wish.
The area around Egtved is one big ice age relic, and for nature lovers it’s very exciting to experience nature changing depending on the time of year you encounter it. Nature here is always magnificent, and experiencing the changing seasons as the colors of the leaves change, the days get shorter or longer and the autumn wind whistling just outside the door, the spring rain gently beating against the tent canvas or the roof of the caravan makes camping unique.
The holiday experience of camping in the outer seasons at Egtved Camping is a combination of nature, togetherness and coziness, and is a good option for those seeking peace, intimacy and new impressions with loved ones or with other campers.
